Ameritech College expects all students and employees to ensure their first and last names are displayed on Zoom calls. This article will outline how to change the displayed name of participants using various methods.

These methods require that you join the Zoom call from your computer or using the Zoom mobile app. If you have not already, please download the Zoom app here.
Updating your name when joining from a computer
1. Once you join the Zoom call move your mouse cursor over the active Zoom call window to show the menu tiles across the bottom. Once visible click the "Participants" button to view all participants.
2. In the expanded "Participants" panel, hover over the top participant (you) and select "More > Rename".
3. In the window that opens enter your first and last name, and click "Rename".
Updating your name when joining from the Zoom mobile app
1. Once you join the Zoom call, tap anywhere on the screen and select participants at the bottom.
2. Tap the top participant (you) and select "Rename" in the menu that opens.
3. In the window that opens enter your first and last name then tap "Done".
Updating other participants names
Note: This can only be done if you are a host of the meeting.
1. Once you join the Zoom call move your mouse cursor over the active Zoom call to show the menu tiles across the bottom. Once visible click the "Participants" button to view all participants.
2. In the expanded "Participants" panel, hover over the participant want to change the name of and select "More > Rename".
3. In the window that opens enter your first and last name, and click "Rename".
